A Vintage Beauty - 1920s
Hello Lovelies,
I thought today I would re-share a beauty post I made over on my Vintage blog: A Vintage Doll in the Desert.
I initially posted this back in October. Its a great winter look inspired by the 1920s.
I thought now would be a perfect time to share this since the Great Gatsby and other 1920 period piece films are set to be released soon.
So please go check it out!! as it would make a perfect look for Christmas or NYE!!

Manicure Monday: My Holiday Nails!!!
Hello Lovelies,
Today I wanted to share my holiday manicure. I couldn't decide on just one so I used 6 different shades and glitter polishes. I wanted something unusual, yet festive. As you all are fully aware I LOVE glitter, and at this time of year it couldn't seem more fitting!!

Look of the day: Inspired by Christina Aguilera on the Voice Nov. 26th and 27th
Hello Lovelies,
I recently was asked on Instagram to publish my outfit of the day. So I though I would mix it up since so many other bloggers have a similar posting project. Since I am wildly inspired by so much every time I get ready, I thought I would post a segment on my inspirations for my hair/makeup/style.
As of recently I have been glued to the Voice like most of us, but also because I have style crush on Christina Aguilera I love how daring and bold she is and never stops to question what other people think! I love this "I am woman here me roar" attitude she has. It is defiantly very empowing!!
So here is my interpretation, its a blend of both nights on the Voice Nov. 26 and Nov 27th:

Manicure Monday - My Autumn Glow by L'Oreal's Fall 2012 Project Runway Collection
Today I bought one of the more interesting colors in the new fall L'Oreal collection: Electric Fantasies (it's the Fall 2012 Project Runway collection).
I chose the pretty, pearly burnt orange shade, mainly because it was the one shade in 8 nail colors that I didn't have some kind of dupe.
The major selling point on it wasn't just the fact that its strikingly unique, but that it reminds me of a beautiful autumn sunset!
My Inspiration:

(oh and the price point wasn't so bad, Rite Aid & Walgreens are currently have a bogo 50% off sale all week Sept.30-Oct.06)
Below are the pics of the #796 - The Muse's Inspritation.
Enjoy!!

Manicure Monday - My Perfect Fall Mani: Brown and Eggplant
Hello Lovelies,
I finally got to doing a fall manicure and I thought that this was an excellent beginning. I couldn't decide between the colors so I took to using them both!
The Brown Shade is Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure in 'Touch of Mink'
The Eggplant shade is by ELF. I picked it up at target two weeks ago, it's a part of their fall collection but I cannot find its name (if you know it let me know!).
Here are the photos from the final project (forgive the bad cuticles on my right hand -- I can never get it perfect no matter how hard I try)

Fall 2012 Collections and the EOS Alice in Wonderland LE Set
Hello my lovelies,
So today I have been scouring the internet researching some of the new fall 2012 cosmetic releases. I discovered that with the many choices of fabulous fall launches, only a few have stuck out the most to me: Revlon the Shanghai Collection by Gucci Westman for Fall 2012, the MAC Marilyn Monroe Collection and the Dior Collection ( I am eyeing the Night Gold Palette). Upon further review I have also noticed that a large majority of the Fall Collections from drugstores to high-end are comprising of alot of deep greens, blues and golds. This is a nice departure from the usual plums and berries we seen every fall.
So I must say that was surprised to find that was so much talk and chatter about this new limited edition eos balm set, and i defiantly am looking forward to it.
I am one of many who are struck with dry lips during the winter months, as nothing ever seems to cure it -- So this will be a nice addition to my makeup arsenal come November... and so if for nothing else the fabulous packaging (which turns into a cute little diorama) should be enough to win over the causal observer!
Special thanks to http://nouveaucheap.blogspot.com for pointing me towards this!!For more on the EOS collection keeping reading after the jump...

My Cooking Project: August - New Mexico
Hello Lovelies,
So as you all are aware of, My new monthly cooking project is to tackle different ethnic and foreign cuisines.
Last month I did Turkey, and this month I am trying out one of my favorites...New Mexican!
Since it is now Hatch Chilli Season, and I have a ridiculous inability to avoid them at the grocery store, I ended up buying 3 pounds of them. So starting today I am working on trying new recipes, first up is my Fire Roasted HatchChile and Chicken Enchiladas.
The recipe:
In a fry pan, heat oil over medium high heat and fry each tortilla, both sides, for about 30 seconds each. Drain well on paper towels.
To assemble:
Add chicken mixture to lower side of each
tortilla, add some of the cheese mixture, (leaving some for the top) roll up
and place into pan. Once all tortillas are rolled, layer with the
remainder of the reserved sauce, top with the remaining cheese and bake at 350
degrees for 45 minutes until cooked through. Serve and enjoy!!

I will post pictures later of how it turns out!

Since it is now Hatch Chilli Season, and I have a ridiculous inability to avoid them at the grocery store, I ended up buying 3 pounds of them. So starting today I am working on trying new recipes, first up is my Fire Roasted Hatch
The recipe:
Fire Roasted Hatch Chile and Chicken Enchiladas
Ingredients:
4-6 Hatch
Green Chiles, roasted, peeled, seeded and chopped
3-4
Cooked chicken Breasts
1, 10 oz
can green Chile
enchilada sauce (I use the La Victoria)
¼ C
chicken stock
2 Medium
Tomatillos (Shucked, and Diced)
12 corn
tortillas
1/3 C
canola oil
Directions:
To fire roast the Hatch green chiles, place whole chiles onto
the grill and blister each one black. Remove from grill and place
into a brown paper sack to steam, rolling the top down to seal the
bag. Once cooled, remove from the bag and peel the skin
off. Cut the top off and remove the seeds and chop. Set
aside!
In a large bowl combine the fire roasted hatch chiles, the green
chile enchilada sauce, the tomatillos, chicken stock, cremea. Mix well I use a
blender to get a fine consistency. Then separate the sauce and leave
out about 1 ½ cups
Put the shredded chicken in a large bowl and the larger
amount of the sauce and mix well.
In another bowl mix both cheeses or add any others you may like.
